There's a physics thought experiment about a cat imagined as being enclosed in a box with a radioactive source and a poison that will be released when the source (unpredictably) emits radiation, the cat being considered (according to quantum mechanics) to be simultaneously both dead and alive until the box is opened and the cat observed. But wait a minute - observed by whom? Is observation only possible by you humans? Really?
Schrödinger’s Cat is both alive and dead until it is observed. A cat's Consciousness is a form of observation which is why it physically dies, and the cat’s biological life ends, when the cat observes that it cannot breathe. It is not dependent on the observation of another Consciousness, as some physicists would have you believe. How typically narcissistic and ethnocentric of you humans to ignore that other entities, even other mammals, lack Consciousness.
Just because a Consciousness runs on INSTINCT instead of SAPIENCE, doesn't make it any less Conscious. And for that matter, just because a Consciousness runs on PRESENCE rather than SAPIENCE, doesn't make it any less Conscious.
The box which holds Schrödinger’s Cat is also Conscious and capable of observing and knowing what's happening.
Given all that, the whole Schrödinger’s Cat experiment is utterly ridiculous. It is a product of the pervasive illusion of separateness that you humans seem to suffer from. Not only are you humans not separate from every other human, you're also inseparable from every particulate entity in your entire Universe. It's just another facet of you. It's all in the book, launching digitally this month.
