At Your Service

According to the Universal Model, the Five Tasks of Life are the means by which to awaken faster and create more efficiently if those things are important to you. It's fine if they're not. One of the Five Tasks is 'Service'. What does this mean? 

Is 'service' all about volunteering and helping little old ladies cross the street? Sure. The service described in the Universal Model is selfless, meaning that which is performed without any expectation of result or award for the person performing it. Such services can be performed to benefit other humans, animals, causes or society in general. In fact, it benefits any aspect of your Universe, without an OBVIOUS reward for you. 

However the rewards are there, so although it may appear to be altruistic, selfless service is actually quite selfish and should be encouraged. If you were a single heart cell or bone cell or brain cell, then your sacrifice would help the 'greater organ'. This will help you, meaning your energy, whether your body (your single cell) survives or not. 

Selfless service is an extension of gratitude. Your action of service is an expression of thanks for others, even if your ego-mind isn't acutely aware of why you might wish to give thanks to those others. 

It's very simple. Service means helping others. Others? Humans, animals, plants, buildings, ideas, planets, the promotion of greater knowledge. ​

Whatever particles are not your body are 'others'. They could be waves (ideas) or particles (things). Either way, your assistance to them and sacrifice for them, will be rewarded whether you seek a reward or not. So whether you're kind and generous and expect no compensation, or whether you're greedy and possessive and want to be paid in full, the answer is service.
